This policy explains, in plain English, what personal data ROPES ("we", "us", "our") collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We are the "data controller" for this information under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

It applies when you visit our website, join our mailing list, or place a pre-order.

What we collect

Information you give us:

Your email address — when you join our mailing list or start a pre-order.
Your name and delivery/billing details — when you place an order.
Your payment details — entered directly into Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.

Information we collect automatically: the pages you view, your approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site (for example from an ad or link). We collect this with cookies and similar technology so we can measure traffic and improve our marketing.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

To send you marketing emails you asked for — on the basis of your consent.
To take and fulfil your order or pre-order — to perform our contract with you.
To run analytics, measure marketing, prevent fraud and keep the site secure — our legitimate interests.
To meet accounting and legal duties — to comply with a legal obligation.

The companies that help us (our processors)

We share the minimum data needed with trusted providers, each acting under a data processing agreement:

Kit (kit.com) — hosts our mailing list and sends our marketing emails.
Resend (resend.com) — delivers our transactional emails, such as order confirmations.
Stripe (stripe.com) — securely processes payments. Your payment is handled under Stripe's own privacy policy.
Bunny CDN — hosts the images and video on this site.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

Our mailing list

You only receive marketing from us if you enter your email and opt in.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time at https://ropespro.com/unsubscribe.
Unsubscribing stops marketing emails. If you have placed an order, we may still send you essential emails about that order.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and pixels to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may work less well if you do.

Sending data outside the UK

Some of our providers (including Stripe, Kit and Resend) are based in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Mailing list data — until you unsubscribe.
Order and payment records — for as long as needed to fulfil the order and to meet our legal and tax obligations (usually up to 6–7 years).
Analytics data — for a limited period only.

Your rights

Under UK/EU data protection law you can ask us to: access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. The site runs over HTTPS, and all payments are handled securely by Stripe.

Children

This site and our products are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
